On June 25, 2025, Mr. Wang Chao, President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs(CPIFA) met with the delegation of former Thai ambassadors to China, who visited China at the invitation of CPIFA. They had friendly communication on bilateral relations and regional and international situation. The Thai delegation consists of 9 former ambassadors to China including former Thai Foreign Minister Tej Bunnag, former Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai, Chief Advisor to the Foreign Minister Jullapong Nonsrichai, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Theerakun Niyom, Amb. Rathakit Manathat, Amb. Piamsak Milintachinda, Amb. Wiboon Khusakul, Amb. Piriya Khempon, and Amb. Arthayudh Srisamoot as well as officials from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Thai Ambassador to China Chatchai Viriyavejakul and CPIFA Vice President Zhou Pingjian were present at the meeting.

On June 24, the delegation attended the Seminar themed “Joining hands to build the China-Thailand community with a shared future” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, held by CPIFA. The delegation had friendly and in-depth discussions with the Chinese participants on “experiences and inspirations of ‘Traditional Friendship between China and Thailand’” “opportunities and future of jointly building the China-Thailand community with a shared future”. Representatives from the Chinese side include Hu Zhengyue, former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs(MFA) of China and former Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of MFA in Macao, CPIFA Vice President Zhou Pingjian, former Chinese ambassadors to Thailand Fu Xuezheng, Zhang Jiuhuan, and Guan Mu, and other experts and scholars. 

During their stay in Beijing, the Thai delegation also met with Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, Mr. Sun Weidong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the Reception to Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Thailand, and paid a visit to the Museum of the Communist Party of China.
