On May 13 and July 1, 2025, the 4th and 5th Meetings of the China-U.S. AI Track Two Dialogue were held successfully via video link. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the topic of “Toward a Global AI Trust Architecture” and agreed to further exchanges from perspectives of technology, policy, legislation, soft rules and diplomacy.

The Chinese delegation was chaired by President Wang Chao of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. delegation was co-chaired by Craig Mundie, former Chief Research and Strategy Officer at Microsoft, and Lawrence H. Summers, former Secretary of the Treasury and former Director of the National Economic Council. Both delegations consisted of a rotating set of leading AI experts with extensive experience in government, university, research institution and private industry.
