On July 18, 2025, Zou Xiaoli, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), met with a delegation led by Wang Boyong, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy (CIIDS), and Feng Wei, Vice President of the CIIDS. The two sides exchanged views and held consultations on jointly organizing the 2025 Understanding China Conference .

Both parties agreed that 2025 marks the concluding year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan and a key period for formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan. As Chinese modernization advances at an accelerated pace, it will exert a more profound impact on world peace and development. Against the backdrop of the accelerating evolution of global changes unseen in a century, the international community is eager to gain a better understanding of China and explore new paths toward lasting peace and common prosperity. The CPIFA and the CIIDS will work closely together with relevant parties to elevate the 2025 Understanding China Conference to new heights, achieve new outcomes, and make new contributions.
